Alarming: 90% of terminology professionals suffer from their weak position in the organization and from lack of recognition and appreciation of their work!

A recent TermNet survey revealed that 37% of terminology professionals are personally struggling with “my weak position in the organization”, 36% with “recognition as terminology professional”, and 27% are struggling with “lack of appreciation of my work”.

I was in Cologne at the Terminology Summer Course 2007. At that time, librarians were not sensbilised for Terminology, because they didn’t change the classification of the books to the access through descriptors, what requires terminology knowledge.. That’s why they didn’t appreciated my work. Now, ten years passed, they can perhaps be on the filed.
