One of the key findings of the “Translation Technology Insights Research 2016” conducted by SDL Trados (2.784 respondents from 115 countries) was the overriding importance of translation quality.
Quality is 2.5x more important than speed – and 6x more important than cost. Even for cost-conscious
corporates and language service providers (LSPs), quality is 4x more important than cost.
According to the Survey, there are 3 Ways to Improve Translation Quality:
- Prioritize terminology management
- Familiarize yourself with existing standards
- Embrace an objective approach to measuring quality

According to the International Network for Terminology (TermNet), the most enjoyable way to start prioritizing terminology management is to attend the International Terminology Summer School (TSS), this year taking place in Cologne, Germany, from 10 to 14 July 2017.
